The aim of the department is to provide early and accurate diagnosis and effective treatment to adult outpatients or ward patients with infections with the help of modern medical knowledge and technology, to carry out preventive practices such as education and vaccination for the prevention of infections with a high risk of being acquired from the community (such as hepatitis, HIV, sexually transmitted infections), and to minimise the risk of infection that may develop in hospitalised patients. Another goal is to teach this awareness, knowledge and working discipline to research assistants and medical faculty students undergoing internship in this department.

Services provided: Outpatient clinic, laboratory, consultation and inpatient services are provided for patients, and bedside training, laboratory-based training, seminars and lectures are provided for education.
