The need for a chaperone is decided by the patient's doctor.
The number of companions is limited to one person. Since the presence of more than one companion would create unnecessary crowding and may hinder the functioning of the hospital, one companion is deemed sufficient.
Our hospital does not accept companions except for single rooms.
No male companion is allowed in the women's ward.
Accompanying persons must comply with hospital rules. In case of violation, the accompaniment status of the person concerned will not be accepted.
Accompanying persons (except for physician and nurse directives) should not perform any application for the patient.
Accompanying persons should keep hospital belongings tidy and clean. Accompanying persons who damage hospital property are obliged to compensate for the damage.
Accompanying persons shall not take patients out of the hospital or change their bed except upon the request of the relevant physician or nurse.
Companions may not use tobacco and alcoholic substances in the hospital.
Companions should not bring food and drink to the patient and should not give any food and drink to the patient without consulting the physician or nurse.
Companions should not speak loudly in patient rooms and corridors and should not disturb staff and other patients.
Companions should inform the nurse when there is any problem with their patients.
Companions are required not to change their companions frequently and to inform the nurse in charge of the clinic if the change is mandatory.
Instructions for Accepting a Companion
Patient companions are accepted with the approval of the chief physician's office outside the private room.
Companions must comply with the rules of Başkent University Hospital.
In case of compulsory accompaniment, the evaluation of the patient's doctor and nurse is taken as basis.
No accompanying persons are admitted to intensive care wards.
Accompanying persons must leave the patient's room during visiting hours.
Accompanying persons may not bring food, drink or flowers to the patients without the knowledge of the doctor and nurse.
Unless there are special conditions for each patient, a maximum of one companion is allowed.
If the doctor deems it appropriate to have a companion in double rooms, he/she fills out the internal correspondence form and submits it to the chief physician for approval. The form approved by the chief physician is directed to the patient reception.
